SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING / ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING FAQ

Special General Meeting and AGM FAQ 2018

WHAT IS THE AUGUST 2018 SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING FOR?

OMT is having a special general meeting to make changes to our constitution. The constitution was written when membership averaged 35 people & we only did 1 show a year.

We have experienced substantial growth with membership growing to 80/100 members and 4 full productions. We are proposing to change the time of year when we hold our annual meeting to align with our show season.

WHY ARE WE PROPOSING THE AGM DATE CHANGE?

We are doing this to align our Annual General Meeting with our show season and our membership.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

If the change to the date of the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING is approved, we will hold our ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING right after the special general meeting.

WHAT IS AN ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING?

It is our annual meeting where we review the year with reports,  when the board of directors are elected, and your chance to get involved as a board member.

WHAT IS A PROXY? HOW DO I USE IT?

A proxy is used if you would like to vote but you are unable to attend the meeting.

You choose to give your vote to a current member in good standing who will be attending the meeting and thus vote on your behalf.

You can RSVP and find PROXY forms at this link  https://form.jotform.com/OrangevilleMusicTheatre/sgm--agm-2018
