All Shook Up young @part               Audition Requirements

 

Auditions for All Shook Up young@part will be held September 22 and 23rd 2023.

Please be prepared to attend call backs if required Sept 24th


Once Jot form is completed, please expect a confirmation email

followed by and audition time email within 2 business days.

Auditions will be held in blocks. Be prepared to be at your audition for aprox 1 hour. Do not arrive more than 10 minutes ahead of your scheduled time block. There will be 3 parts to the audition:

choreography, music, and monologue reading.



Acting
Please come prepared with a 1 minute monologue for this audition. Cold reads may be held for those who audition for named roles. Please review character descriptions below.


Music
50's style rock song, that is not Elvis
Please bring your own instrumental karaoke backing track on your personal device.

No acapella auditions please.

 

 

Choreography
You will be taught short dance combination routines and will then be asked to perform that routine in small groups. Please come prepared in appropriate dance attire and footwear.

   

Character Breakdown

NATALIE HALLER /ED – Although she’s a teenager, she’s an excellent mechanic. She’s much more at home in greasy overalls than a dress.

CHAD – A great-lookin’, motorbike-ridin’, guitar-playin’, leather-jacketed roustabout.

SYLVIA – The no-nonsense owner of SYLVIA’S HONKY-TONK CAFE.

LORRAINE — Sylvia’s daughter.

DENNIS – An awkward young man. He aspires to be a dentist.

SANDRA – The beautiful, intellectual caretaker of the town’s museum.

MAYOR MATILDA HYDE – The town’s very conservative mayor.

DEAN HYDE – Matilda’s teenage son. He has spent his youth at military boarding schools and he has never disobeyed his mother.

SHERIFF EARL – The law in town and a man of not many words. He loyally follows the Mayor wherever she goes.

MALE & FEMALE ENSEMBLE play an assortment of TOWNSPEOPLE and are featured throughout the show.
